There Will Be Blood: Staying Safe During Violent Times

New Year’s Eve 2020 was a constant stream of online declarations of happiness that 2020 was over and 2021 would be different. The reality is that 2021 is shaping up to be another year of life, not being what people expect. At this point, there are still some that say “when things go back to normal.” At this point, that is not a healthy outlook to have. Too much has happened for things to go back to how they were. Can they improve and get better? Sure they can, but it might take some time and a lot of unpleasantness....

Surviving the Digital Renaissance

It has been said history does not repeat but it often rhymes. The reality is that looking back at past events and their outcomes is the best tool we have for predicting what might happen in the future.  While the events transpiring in the world around us today might seem unprecedented or even chaotic, the truth is that there are many parallels with the events of today and the last great information revolution that happened around the development of the printing press. Learning From The Intercontinental Terminals Corp Fire In Houston & Other Industrial Disasters

Over the last few days the situation near Houston has been one of fire and fear. The fire at Intercontinental Terminals Corp in La Porte, TX, just outide of Houston has been raging since the morning of March 17 and authorities are now unsure just how long the situation could go on. This means all hands on deck for a lot of emergency personnel and a lot of strain on all the resources needed to contain the fire to just the tanks that are hopelessly lost. The fire cannot just be put out but most be allowed to burn out...

My Interview On The Prepper Broadcasting Network Podcast “A Family Affair”

Matt and I have been shearing sheep today. Yesterday we sprayed 1,000 grape vines in our vineyard. Our pic snapped while cleaning up after spraying yesterday. Tomorrow I will try to put up a full-length post. In the meantime, I wanted to share an interview I did fairly recently. I have not done that many interviews so I am still learning a bit about speaking live. There was also an active chat room for listeners during the podcast. This interview took place on January 12, 2019, on the podcast “A Family Affair” on The Prepper Broadcasting Network. Thanks for listening!...

Why Are The Shelves So Bare At The Grocery Store?

Over the past few months, my husband and I have kept an eye on the store shelves in our area. We don’t shop daily or even weekly, but the trend of increasingly bare shelves has been incredibly disturbing. This made me curious as to what others have been experiencing. As a member of various online prepping communities, I see a lot of conversations and concerns, but one thing that has stood out to me is the amazing number of people chiming in to report sparse or bare shelves or just not being able to find a specific item they like....
